Wandering the streets of Wuhan is among my favorite hobbies. In 2021, I went to a street in the Wuchang district and took some interesting photos. This kind of street is very common throughout China, but they are rarely visited or photographed by tourists.

The selling of live animals is a common site on these kinds of streets. Softshell turtles are almost always found here. Unfortunately, this kind of market is often supported by locals going into the wetlands at night and catching everything they can find with nets. This practice has contributed to numerous extinctions in recent years.
