Wenhua College, in Wuhan’s Hongshan District, formally had a thriving graffiti scene. Students would often paint messages and characters on the many concrete walls that crisscrossed the campus’ back alleys. However, post-crackdown (in the early 2020s), this was all removed and replaced with what I call “covid propaganda” about the PRC’s alleged triumph over the virus. That kind of propaganda was especially prevalent in Wuhan because it was the origin of the pandemic.
